This internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working from a Kaiser Permanente regional office. Finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.

Department Details

The Multi-State and NSAM Business Services organization is comprised of several teams providing support to some of the organization-s largest and most complex customers. The Multi-State line of business focuses on large, multi-market groups, supporting the full account lifecycle from prospect quoting and installation to ongoing account management and renewals. The NSAM Business Services division delivers dedicated back-end operational support to National Accounts customers, partnering closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate quoting, seamless installations, and consistent service execution.

Internship Projects

This position will support the Multi-State and NSAM Business Services organization, with exposure to sales, account management roles, internal functional partners, and shared service teams.

The internship will be an opportunity for an undergraduate looking for exposure to:

Internal and external business relationships
Sales & Account Management Operations
National and Regional Shared Service operations
Healthcare Industry

Potential Projects That The Intern May Lead/support Include

Exposure to shared service operations, including process documentation and optimization
Initiatives focused on improving internal efficiency
Projects aimed at enhancing the customer experience across quoting, renewal, and installation touchpoints
Evaluation of market-facing improvement opportunities to strengthen competitiveness and service delivery
Cross-functional shared service initiatives to improve collaboration and end-to-end workflow visibility
Development of internal communications to support change management and team alignment
Special projects aligned to departmental priorities and evolving business needs

Additional tasks may be possible, depending on the skills and interests of the intern and the needs of the organization.

Internship Description

This internship role supports the Multi-State and National Sales & Account Management (NSAM) Business Services team, which focuses on improving the processes, tools, and operations that enable sales and account management teams to better serve multi-market customers. The intern will assist with research, documentation, and project coordinationacross a range of operational initiatives. Responsibilities may include organizing data, helping identify process improvement opportunities, and supporting cross-functional projects that enhance team efficiency and collaboration. This role provides exposure to sales operations, process improvement, and cross-functional teamwork, while building foundational skills in analysis, problem solving, and business operations.
