Senior Project Manager – Hybrid Cloud & Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
About the Role:
Albany Beck are hiring for a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Hybrid Cloud & Google Cloud Platform (GCP) initiatives, onsite at one of our Investment Banking clients, based in London. This role will involve managing complex cloud transformation projects, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments, and working closely with key stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Hybrid Cloud and GCP projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives.
Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and roadmaps for cloud adoption, migration, and hybrid cloud strategy implementation.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Cloud Architects, DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams, to ensure successful project execution.
Oversee the deployment of key GCP Hybrid Cloud services such as Anthos, Google Cloud VMware Engine, Cloud Interconnect & VPN, BigQuery Omni, and Bare Metal Solution.
Work closely with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure cloud solutions align with data sovereignty, financial regulations, and security requirements.
Drive collaboration with external vendors, cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure), and technology partners to optimize hybrid cloud strategies.
Monitor and report project progress, risks, and issues to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Champion best practices in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies for efficient cloud project execution.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior project managers and technical teams.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in project management within cloud transformation, hybrid cloud, or IT infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) in a hybrid cloud setup.
Experience with Anthos, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and VMware in hybrid cloud environments.
Understanding of financial sector regulations, data sovereignty, and compliance frameworks.
Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with senior executives and technology teams.
Excellent problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making abilities.
Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Google Cloud Certified (GCP), AWS/Azure certifications are a plus.
