About the Role: Selby Jennings is proud to partner with a leading global systematic hedge fund in their search for a talented Data Sourcer. This role is pivotal in enhancing the firm's data capabilities by focusing on vendor management, sourcing new data from niche and global providers, and working with market and alternative data. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and data engineering teams to ensure the highest quality data is integrated into investment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with data vendors to ensure access to high-quality data sources.
Data Sourcing: Source new data from niche and global providers, focusing on market and alternative data that can enhance investment strategies.
Collaboration: Work closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and data engineering teams to understand data requirements and ensure seamless integration of new data sources.
Market & Alternative Data: Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in market and alternative data to identify new opportunities for data acquisition.
Data Quality: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of sourced data through rigorous validation and quality control processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science).
Proven experience in data sourcing and vendor management, preferably within the financial services industry.
Strong understanding of market and alternative data.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
