Job Title: Financial Controller – SVP/VP
Location: London, UK
Duration: 12-month contract with strong potential for long-term extension

About the Role:
A leading global investment bank is seeking seasoned Financial Controllers (SVP/VP level) to play a pivotal role in a strategic General Ledger transformation initiative. These professionals will provide critical backfill support, enabling existing Run-the-Bank financial controllers to focus on a high-priority UK workstream.

As the project progresses, the scope will expand into North America, presenting an opportunity for a multi-year engagement.

All new hires will undergo a 30–60-day structured training program to ensure a smooth transition before fully assuming their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee month-end close, cash reconciliations, and general ledger reporting
Ensure accuracy of debits and credits in financial statements
Support ERP and ledger transformation initiatives
Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, accounting, and risk teams
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP standards
Assist in project testing cycles and financial reporting solutions
Utilize advanced Excel skills and financial systems expertise

Requirements:
6-8 years of experience in financial controlling/accounting (investment banking required)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CA, MBA preferred)
Strong knowledge of general ledger, chart of accounts, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred)
Experience in financial analysis and reporting
Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards
Strong communication skills, ability to present financial data to diverse audiences
Proactive problem solver, team-oriented, and detail-focused
