AWS DATA ENGINEER

6-MONTH CONTRACT

£450-£550 PER DAY OUTSIDE IR35
This role offers a great opportunity for an AWS Data Engineer to join a fast-moving business working on high-impact data transformation initiatives. You'll play a hands-on role in building and optimising modern data pipelines, while supporting business-critical insights and reporting systems. The environment encourages technical ownership, collaboration, and the opportunity to work on a diverse set of cloud-first data challenges.
THE COMPANY
This is a global organisation operating in a fast-paced, insight-driven sector, with teams focused on using data to shape audience understanding, content strategy, and decision-making. They are investing heavily in their data infrastructure to modernise legacy systems and support real-time data delivery across key functions. The business operates across several international markets and is growing its UK data engineering capability.
THE ROLE
You'll join a collaborative engineering team focused on enabling scalable data access across the organisation. Your work will support both immediate reporting needs and longer-term strategic projects. This includes helping with migration initiatives, designing data flows, and troubleshooting day-to-day data challenges raised by downstream users.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and maintaining efficient, scalable pipelines on AWS.
Supporting data migration from legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms.
Working closely with analysts and technical teams to ensure data is accurate, timely, and fit for purpose.
Implementing automation and monitoring to enhance pipeline reliability and performance.
Participating in both BAU and project-based tasks within a growing engineering function.
KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift
Experience with event streaming tools like Kafka or Kinesis.
Familiarity with version control, data testing, and deployment best practices.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
