Mechanical Design Engineer

Skills/ Experience Required
Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies.
Clearly understand documentation and the ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team environment
Must be willing to work to and set high work standards and be a good communicator
Strong understanding of plastic moulding and sheet metal fabrication design as well as a good understanding of tooling and parts manufacture.
Lead Mechanical activities with a good understanding of different manufacturing and assembly options, also review/recommend new manufacturing/assembly technologies
Lead/support; design reviews, assembly process, testing, etc
Work with Engineers from different disciplines for the benefit of the project as a whole
Able to work on multiple projects/tasks at the same time
Experience of working on projects from basic concepts right through to production
CAD (ProE/Creo preferred)
Work with Suppliers throughout project lifecycle
Drawing, dimensioning & tolerancing experience
Stress and Tolerance analysis experience
Experience with assemblies containing PCBs/harnesses including design for EMC & Safety
Experience with Rapid prototyping technologies
BOM cost tracking
Status reporting and tracking to schedule
Documentation – Functional and Unit Test Specifications
