New Freelance Opportunity – Data Governance Lead | Brussels |

We're hiring! Our client is seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to drive the roll-out of their enterprise-wide data governance framework.

Location: Brussels (2–3 days onsite/week)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months (extension possible)
EU Citizenship required
Languages: Bilingual in Dutch + English or French + English (C2 level for both)

Role Overview
As Data Governance Lead, you will guide a team of experts and define th clients data governance vision, aligned with business and IT stakeholders. Your role will ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment across all data-related functions.

Key Responsibilities
Define and implement the clients data governance framework.
Lead a team of governance officers and drive training and change management.
Establish data roles, policies (quality, privacy), and governance structures.
Manage data catalog and master data quality assurance.
Engage with senior stakeholders and data communities.
Monitor KPIs and continuously improve the governance approach.

Your Profile
5+ years leading data governance, modelling, privacy by design.
Strong grasp of Enterprise Architecture and Data & Analytics.
Hands-on with leading data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
Strategic thinker with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
Bilingual in Dutch + English or French + English (C2 level).
