Global Head of Cyber Security (Freelance Contractor)
Location: Belgium or Netherlands Locations with a Hybrid Working Model

Rate: €1000 – €2000 per day
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Global Head of Cyber Security to lead and shape our enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy.
This role combines strategic leadership with technical acumen and a client-centric mindset to ensure the security of both internal systems and external solutions across global markets.
The ideal candidate will bring a unique blend of consulting, infrastructure security, and innovation-driven product development, enabling rapid growth through both internal security excellence and cutting-edge service offerings for clients.
This role will report directly to executive leadership and be a pivotal part of our global growth journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement a global, long-term information and cyber security roadmap aligned with regulatory standards and business objectives.
Define KPIs and performance metrics to measure maturity, risk reduction, and system resilience.
Present security strategy and performance updates to board members and key stakeholders.
Identify and establish strategic alliances with key cyber security vendors.
Cyber Security Practice Development
Build and lead a high-performance cyber security team, fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous learning.
Collaborate with global practice heads (IoT, SCADA, Digital Twin, Digital Transformation) to develop integrated security solutions.
Drive new product development (NPD) and bespoke cyber offerings that align with client needs and industry trends.
Lead acquisitions and partnerships to expand cyber advisory and product capabilities.
Internal Security Oversight
Establish and enforce global policies, frameworks, and standards to secure internal infrastructure.
Maintain and mature the cyber risk management program, including threat detection, incident response, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, NERC CIP).
Oversee architecture design, ecosystem management, and secure technology implementation.
Client-Facing Engagement
Enhance and tailor cybersecurity propositions for clients across the UK, Europe, Australia, and the USA.
Support sales and business development with technical expertise and commercial insight.
Build long-term, recurring revenue models through managed security services and integrated product offerings.
First 100 Days Focus
Conduct a market analysis and enhance the global cyber sales proposition.
Establish collaborative frameworks with other practice heads.
Identify 3–5 potential acquisition targets and initiate strategic partnerships.
Define measurable KPIs and security baselines across internal environments.
Hire core team members to begin scaling the practice.
Profile and Experience
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related discipline.
7–10+ years in a senior cyber security leadership role with strategic responsibility.
Experience building or leading security functions in consulting (Banking /Finance), utilities, or FMCG sectors.
Proven success in both internal infrastructure protection and client-facing security services.
Strong track record in building diverse and scalable cyber security teams.
Advanced knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, NERC CIP).
