Frontend Engineer – Career Coaching Meets Clean Code
£50-70k DOE

London Hybrid (1 in the office a week)
We’re recruiting for a fast-growing ed-tech startup on a mission to make career coaching and mentoring accessible to everyone at work - not just the execs. They're live across the UK and US, backed by seasoned founders, and building tools that actually help people grow.

The Role
You’ll be joining a tight-knit engineering team where your work really matters. From responsive mobile screens to slick web interfaces, you’ll be at the core of creating beautiful, accessible, and fast experiences for real users.
We work with React, React Native, and TypeScript, and we care a lot about clean code, performance, and design details.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build beautiful UI – You’ll own frontend features across mobile and web using React, React Native, HTML/CSS, and TypeScript.
Turn designs into real life – Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect Figma mocks.
Keep it fast - Optimise performance for speed, scalability, and user joy.
Write clean code - Use modern best practices and help keep the codebase healthy and readable.
Test like a pro - Use tools like Jest to write unit/integration tests and squash bugs before users ever see them.
Work cross-functionally - Pair up with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to ship quickly and often.
Stay curious – Help us explore and adopt emerging frontend tools and workflows.
What We’re Looking For
2–4 years of commercial frontend experience
Strong React skills - React Native skills will be hugely favoured
You care about the details - you’ve got an eye for great UI, animations, and transitions
Experience working with designers (or the initiative to care even if you haven’t)
Comfortable with state management tools like Redux, Context, or Recoil
Confidence integrating with APIs and working across the stack
Curious, self-starting, and adaptable - this is a fast-moving team
Clear communicator who collaborates well in cross-functional settings
Bonus Points For
Experience with Expo, CI/CD, or GraphQL
Exposure to AI dev tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot
Side projects or open-source contributions - we love people who love to build
