Job Specifications

Title: Senior AWS Engineer
Day Rate: £450 -£550pd (Outside IR35)
Duration: 6 Months
Based: Hybrid/London (1 day a week)
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable AWS infrastructure using services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, and RDS.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Docker.
Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline and standardise application delivery processes.
Monitor infrastructure performance and availability using observability tools including CloudWatch, Grafana, InfluxDB, and ElasticSearch.
Implement security best practices including IAM policies, WAF configuration, and key management to ensure platform compliance.
Manage and optimise database and caching services (RDS, Elasticache) for performance, scalability, and resilience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the deployment of new features, ensuring operational efficiency and platform reliability.

Experience Required
Demonstrated experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role with a strong emphasis on AWS.
Expertise in AWS services and architecture, with solid knowledge of cloud networking and security.
Proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, and configuration tools such as Ansible.
Hands-on experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes).
Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
Solid scripting abilities (e.g., Python, Bash) and excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
