IT Portfolio Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead a small team of IT Project Managers to translate airline business needs into a prioritized, high‑quality project portfolio. Serve as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders, coaching staff, managing project governance, and ensuring delivery within time, cost, and risk parameters.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a consistent, value‑driven project portfolio that aligns with business strategy.
- Develop and mentor a high‑performing project management team.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with airport departments and third‑party vendors.
- Uphold rigorous governance, budgeting, and risk management practices.
- Continuously improve project delivery processes and maturity.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Build and nurture trusted relationships with airport departments and external partners to identify and capture technology needs.
- Convert demand into a transparent, prioritized roadmap of IT projects.
- Manage and coach IT Project Managers and the PMO, ensuring high‑quality outcomes.
- Oversee project governance, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation.
- Conduct hands‑on project execution or assurance reviews as required by a small team environment.
- Evolve the project management framework, reporting, and demand‑management approaches to enhance departmental maturity.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of multiple technology projects (high volume, low complexity).
- Track record of coaching and developing PMs/PMO professionals.
- Strong command of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project methodologies.
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- In‑depth understanding of project governance, budgeting, and portfolio reporting.
- Commercial and financial acumen, including business‑case development.
- Experience managing third‑party suppliers and consultancy partners.
- Valid project, programme, or portfolio management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP, PMI‑ACP).
**Desired Add‑ons**
- Ongoing CPD and self‑development evidence.
- Exposure to Cyber Security or Information Security projects/frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI.
- Understanding of business change principles.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Project, Programme, or Portfolio Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP, PMI‑ACP, etc.).
- UK work permit, willingness to undergo security clearance.
