**Job Title**: Quality Engineering Lead
**Role Summary**: Lead end‑to‑end quality strategy for complex financial software, integrating test planning, automation, and performance testing. Owns governance, metrics, and a high‑performing QA team.
**Expectations**
- Direct quality initiatives across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Foster a shift‑left culture in the SDLC; promote testable design and continuous integration.
- Mentor and develop a team of QA/QE engineers, setting standards and driving improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define and implement comprehensive test strategy, governance model, and quality framework.
- Develop master test plans, schedules, and resource allocations across programs.
- Establish quality metrics (defect density, automation coverage, cycle time), track KPIs, and report status to stakeholders.
- Lead, coach, and review QA/QE engineers on testing techniques, code review, and risk mitigation.
- Drive automation: enhance suites, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Evaluate and adopt API, performance, and monitoring tools; ensure support for cloud and container environments.
- Partner with developers to improve testability, with DevOps for seamless deployments, and conduct root‑cause analysis for production issues.
- Design and execute test plans for complex features, including performance, security, and regression testing.
**Required Skills**
- 10+ years in software quality engineering or testing within financial services.
- 3+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Expertise in test automation and scripting (Python, JavaScript, Java).
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Hands‑on with modern testing frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, Postman).
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure, Docker/Kubernetes, and infrastructure testing.
- Data‑driven analytical mindset; experience measuring and improving quality metrics.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and mentorship abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or ISTQB Advanced (preferred).
