Job description: Our client is looking to contract one on-site consultant to support the SMA - Scenarios, Market & Adequacy Analysis team who will develop and improve flow-based market modeling frameworks, executing large-scale economic dispatch simulations and supporting federal planning, interconnection evaluations, and internal processes.
What you'll do:
Modeling & Data Quality:
Analyze grid data (e.g., PTDF, RAM, CNEC).
Automate and visualize input data checks.
Improve and extend R/Python/Excel/VBA scripts.
Support code development tools (e.g., Git, CI pipelines).
Research & Development:
Explore novel methodologies for market studies.
Execution of Market Studies:
Cost-benefit analyses for federal and interconnection projects.
Flow-based dispatch analysis for internal 'Production Vector' processes.
What you bring:
3-5 years of experience in data management.
Must have skillks like Programming: R or Python (proficiency in at least one; both preferred).
VBA (for Excel automation).
Economic dispatch tools: ANTARES, PyPSA.
Data visualization: Tableau, PowerBI.
Version control: Git.
IDEs: RStudio, VSCode.
Software practices: documentation, testing, modular development.
Ability to work with large datasets (10+ GB/simulation).
Language:
Fluent in French or Dutch, and English.
