Project Manager - Retail POS Transformation
Location: Greater Toronto Area (Onsite offices Downtown Toronto or Brampton)
Client: Leading Retail Brand
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite engagement
Background
A leading retail client in the GTA is undergoing a major Point-of-Sale (POS) system upgrade, transitioning to a cloud-based solution. The initiative is already well-structured and underway, and we're looking for a seasoned Project Manager to guide it to completion. The PM will be instrumental in managing the complexities of the initiative -- including cross-functional risks, stakeholder alignment, and operational impacts -- as we aim to go live next year.
Qualifications
10-15 years of project management experience (or less with strong maturity and excellent communication)
Retail industry experience highly preferred; POS upgrades or cloud migration projects are a plus
Strong technical fluency with the ability to learn, absorb, and reflect on technology implications
Proven stakeholder management skills with exceptional EQ and IQ
PG (Program Governance) experience is a strong asset
Executive-level communication -- articulate, empathetic, and persuasive across multiple audiences
Responsibilities
Lead project delivery, including scheduling, budgeting, scope management, and dependency tracking
Proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, and moving parts across the initiative
Communicate clearly and strategically with executives, technical teams, and vendors
Read the room -- demonstrate situational awareness and emotional intelligence in all engagements
Serve as a bridge between business objectives and technical execution
Ensure alignment with go-live timelines and overall project goals
