Lead Technical Architect - Digital Transformation Project

Location: UK-based (remote with occasional travel)

Start Date: ASAP

We're looking for a Lead Technical Architect to join a high-impact digital transformation programme focused on validating customer application data and modernising legacy systems.

You'll lead the technical design and architecture of a new live service, ensuring it's scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards. This role involves working across agile teams and driving API Gateway enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architecture and technical analysis for a new data validation service.
Define solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Modernise legacy systems and enhance API Gateway capabilities.
Produce high- and low-level designs and technical artefacts.
Participate in agile ceremonies and mentor internal teams.

Essential Skills

Proven experience as a Technical Architect.
Strong expertise in API Gateway design, cloud platforms (AWS), and legacy system migration.
Skilled in Java, DB2, relational databases, and network concepts.
Agile delivery experience and architectural governance knowledge.

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with OpenAPI, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, JBOSS/EJB, Postgres, Python.
Understanding of architecture design patterns.
Experience in UK government or regulated environments.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
