As a Full Stack Software Developer at Gather, you will play a critical role in both frontend and backend development, utilizing Typescript, React, Redux, Node.js, and AWS services. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, capable of working autonomously, and comfortable collaborating with our small, tight-knit team.

We provide a proprietary software platform that assists families in the challenging task of saying goodbye to a loved one. We partner with hundreds of funeral homes who use our white-labeled software to help with everything from planning and live-streaming funeral services, managing payments, tracking insurance policies, writing the obituary, uploading memories and photos, and much more. We automate and streamline many of the inefficiencies experienced by funeral homes, allowing them to focus even more on helping families through the grieving process.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend components of our software platform using Typescript, React, Redux, Node.js and PostgreSQL.
Utilize AWS services like Lambda, RDS, SQS, Batch, and EventBridge to build scalable and reliable applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive approach to project completion and meet all deliverables on schedule.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to our users.
Participate in all aspects of the development process from ideation, planning, development, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
Required Experience/Skills:
Experience with Typescript and React/Redux on the frontend.
Experience with Node.js and AWS services on the backend.
Proficiency with SQL databases and authoring SQL queries, particularly PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with git, Jira, Visual Studio Code/Copilot or Cursor, OpenAI, and the Google Suite.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality.
Strong communication skills and comfort with team interactions.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Ability to learn new programs and adjust to an ever-evolving workflow.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Know how to leverage AI/LLMs to drive development and customer efficiencies.
The right candidate will be a self-starter who can hit the ground running with minimal oversight.
Bonus Qualifications:

Experience developing and testing software on macOS.
