Position: Data Scientist (Manufacturing)

Location: Waukegan, IL 60087 onsite

Duration: 12-24 months

I'm looking for a versatile Data Scientist / Applications Developer to join our team. In this role, you'll design, develop, and support business-critical applications that power our equipment service management operations. You'll work across Maximo, Cognos, and SAP to build custom dashboards, reports, and tools that keep our service contracts, performance tracking, and operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

Design and customize dashboards, portlets, and start centers in Maximo to streamline workflows.
Build and maintain Cognos dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc queries that provide actionable insights.
Develop and optimize SAP queries and reports to extract key business information.
Lead the design and development of an online service contract renewal system, integrating with Maximo and SAP to automate notifications, enable customer portals, and track contract status.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data-driven solutions.
Perform testing, quality assurance, and documentation (SOPs, technical guides) to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Provide training and support for end-users and assist with ad-hoc reporting needs.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
7+ years of experience working with enterprise systems, specifically Maximo, Cognos, and SAP within a manufacturing environment.
Strong technical skills: SQL, Java, JavaScript, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and data warehousing.
Proven ability to design, integrate, and support business applications across multiple platforms.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently.

This is a high-impact role where you'll combine technical expertise, business process knowledge, and creativity to build solutions that directly support critical operations in the Manufacturing Production Technical Services.
