The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Jobs Marketplace Core team, a cornerstone of our platform responsible for ensuring the seamless interplay of job seekers, hirers, and LinkedIn's monetization value delivery streams. As the Engineering Manager, you'll spearhead the development and optimization of our next-generation Jobs Marketplace, leveraging cutting-edge AI/ML technologies to deliver value to improve relevance, revenue and hirer's outcome.

Responsibilities
* Innovation Leadership: drive advancements in AI/LLMs and simplifying system architecture for improved performance and scalability.
* Value Delivery: Implement tools and processes that provide job posters transparency and ROI through targeting, forecasting, and quality applicant delivery mechanisms.
* Operations: Scale and enhance core infrastructure meet the needs of millions of seekers and jobs on the LinkedIn platform.
* Team Empowerment: Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team capable of addressing challenges like marketplace balance, system reliability, and modern monetization strategies.

Responsibilities
* Lead and grow a team of 10 engineers, supporting their performance, career development, and technical growth.
* Own the design, architecture, and delivery of new marketplace optimization strategies leveraging AI and data to improve outcome for hirer and job seekers.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to define and evolve the long-term technology vision and roadmap.
* Act as a role model and coach, fostering a culture of high integrity, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
* Guide the team in scaling distributed systems, making architectural trade-offs, and applying synchronous/asynchronous design principles.

Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training
5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Python/C/C++/Scala/etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience
7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
5+ years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Go, etc.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $152,000 - $248,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
