Job Description

Team Overview:

The Premium AI teams work on products at LinkedIn which impact millions of members on the platform. On the Premium AI team, you will be working on exciting products and features related to enabling individuals and small businesses who are looking to optimize their leverage of LinkedIn. Technical work includes Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI (GAI), Semantic Search, Large Language Models (LLMs), and multi-task learning. This team works closely with other AI teams across LinkedIn.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Responsibilities:

Directly lead a team of 7-8 Engineers, including Senior and Staff (Technical Lead) Engineers.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Applications Engineers, Product, Infrastructure, and foundational teams to align on initiatives.
Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team.
Define and leverage best practices for engineering and research to ensure optimal productivity and drive faster iterations.
Attract world class talent and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
Operate best engineering and scientific practices & processes to ensure productivity of the team and drive faster iterations via A/B experiments.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of related industry experience in Machine Learning, development, and algorithm related solutions
BA/BS in Computer Science or other technical discipline, or related practical technical experience
1+ year(s) of management experience leading a AI/ML engineering team, or 1+ year(s) of Staff level AI/ML engineering experience with management training

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in a leadership role within the AI or Machine Learning domain, including at least one year of direct people leadership.
7+ years of industry experience in AI, Machine Learning, or related disciplines.
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or related fields
Experience building customer-facing AI solutions.

Compensation Disclosure:

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $170,000 - $277,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
