Job Title: PMO Analyst - Contract (Hybrid, Birmingham)

Contract Type: Until end of year (with rolling extensions)

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PMO Analyst to join a leading financial services client on a contract basis until the end of the year, with strong potential for rolling extensions.

The successful candidate will act as a dedicated PMO Engagement Lead, supporting portfolio outcomes, driving governance and reporting standards, and ensuring effective risk and issue management across programmes. This is a highly visible role with exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence delivery across critical portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

Support delivery of portfolio outcomes, aligned to organisational strategic priorities.
Work with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely reporting data and governance meeting materials.
Monitor and report on portfolio health to PMO leadership and senior management.
Identify thematic risks and issues and escalate them appropriately.
Support annual planning activities, advising on best practices and producing review materials.
Ensure programmes and projects comply with internal frameworks, methodologies, and standards.
Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and governance materials to support senior-level decision-making.
Provide oversight across programmes/portfolios/projects without directly owning delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, with proven experience engaging senior stakeholders.
Ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and bring teams together across business and technology.
Strong reporting skills - comfortable turning ad-hoc requests into clear, high-level reports for senior management.
Knowledge of technology platforms and fintech is desirable.
Experience preparing portfolio updates, audits, and status reports.
