Freelance Azure Data Engineer - Sustainability Analytics Platform (Ghent)

Location: Ghent, Belgium (Hybrid)

Contract Type: Freelance / Project-Based

Duration: 6 to 12 months

We are working with a mid-sized manufacturing company in Ghent on a strategic initiative to develop a cloud-native sustainability analytics platform. My client is seeking an experienced freelance Azure Data Engineer to lead the technical delivery of this project.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement a scalable data platform on Microsoft Azure to monitor energy consumption, emissions, and waste across production facilities
Own the end-to-end architecture, from data ingestion to visualization
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align technical solutions with sustainability objectives

Required Expertise:

Azure Data Lake
Synapse Analytics
Power BI
Azure Functions
