Business Analyst - Risk (Commodities) & Business Analyst - LNG

Location: Central London (Hybrid)

Contract: 6-month rolling, Outside IR35, 3 days per week each

A leading global energy trading and refining organisation. Active across oil, gas, LNG, and power markets, with integrated refining assets and an extensive supply chain. The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, with trading, risk, and operations working closely to optimise performance across physical and financial markets.

Opportunity

The client is looking for two experienced Business Analysts to join its Central London office: one focused on Risk (Commodities) and one dedicated to LNG.

1) Business Analyst - Risk (Commodities)

Overview

Deliver business analysis for the risk team across Oil, Gas, and LNG. Emphasis on credit risk, portfolio exposure, and process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse and document requirements for VaR, mark-to-market, and exposure reporting.
Support build and maintenance of market curves in Endur.
Partner with risk managers on credit exposure and pricing processes.
Act as point of contact between risk, IT, and operations.
Optional: assist with Cube Logic configuration.

Requirements

Proven business analysis skills within energy trading or risk.
Knowledge of Endur and risk concepts (VaR, credit exposure, pricing).
Understanding of Gas, Power, LNG products.
Comfortable working without front-office focus.

2) Business Analyst - LNG

Overview

Provide additional business analysis capacity to an LNG team experiencing high trading and operational activity.

Key Responsibilities

Gather and document requirements for LNG trade lifecycle, including boil-off, transit, and physical flows.
Support system enhancements in C-motion and Endur.
Map and optimise LNG processes, from deal capture to delivery.
Work with traders, schedulers, and operations on data integrity.

Requirements

Strong LNG market and shipping knowledge.
Experience as a business analyst in LNG or gas trading.
Competent with C-motion and Endur.
Detail-oriented with understanding of physical logistics.
