We're looking for a Cloud Data Developer for a hybrid freelance/contracting position in Brussels, Belgium.

Contract Details:

Role: Cloud Data Developer
Way of working: Hybrid, 50% onsite in Brussels
Start date: December 1, 2025
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Duration: 660 workdays, with a 3-month break clause (1-month notice)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Data Developer to help deliver high-performance, cutting-edge data engineering solutions.
The role involves working with a modern, Azure-based cloud platform that leverages Databricks and Power BI.
You will collaborate with IT analysts and end-users to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and provide coaching to ensure effective use of the platform.
As a member of the team, you will also help define and promote data engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver high-quality data solutions.
Develop, test, and maintain data engineering solutions in line with established standards.
Provide technical guidance and support to the data engineering team.
Support and coach end-users through demos, training, and one-on-one sessions.
Contribute to the definition and promotion of standard data engineering practices across the group.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering projects, with a strong focus on Azure cloud services.
Expertise in Datawarehouse design, Lakehouse architecture, and Deltalake.
In-depth knowledge of ETL processes, data integration techniques, and performance tuning for large datasets.
Mandatory skills in Databricks platform (notebooks, Delta Lake, clusters, Unity Catalog, Auto Loader, etc.).
Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, Git, and Apache Airflow.
