Are you passionate about data, business intelligence, and the technology behind it? We're looking for a Team Leader Data Management & BI who can bring structure to data processes, strengthen the data strategy, and inspire a small but growing data team within a major player in the Belgian HR and staffing sector, bringing together over 500 employees across 70 offices and in-house teams.

About the Role

You'll lead a small team of 2 experienced data professionals and guide the evolution towards a modern, cloud-based data landscape. Your mission: to turn data into actionable insights that drive smart business decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and inspire the data team to deliver high-quality, reliable insights.
Develop a clear data roadmap and strategy aligned with business goals, including the vision for self-service analytics (Power BI), cloud (Azure), and AI readiness.
Streamline and document data processes to ensure efficiency and focus on value-added activities.
Define and monitor data governance, data quality, and data architecture.
Coordinate and deliver data & BI projects, such as the migration to a modern DWH and implementation of new tools.
Act as a bridge between business and IT, translating complex needs into practical, data-driven solutions.
Identify opportunities to innovate, automate, and optimize reporting and analytics processes.
Take a hands-on role when needed -- you understand the technical details and can guide your team through challenges.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Data, or Business Intelligence (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in Data Management or BI, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coaching role.

Required Skills

Excellent communicator -- you can translate technical topics into clear business insights.
Fluent in Dutch, with a professional command of English.

Preferred Skills

Solid experience with the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS).
Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling (Kimball).
Familiarity with ETL automation tools - experience with TimeXtender is a strong plus.
Proven experience with Power BI for visualization and dashboarding.
Knowledge of Python for data automation is a bonus.
Experience with Microsoft Azure components such as Data Factory or Databricks.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and data governance frameworks.
Understanding of AI-driven data opportunities or advanced analytics.
