The Data Visualization, BI Development, and Reporting role involves developing end-to-end reporting solutions, from data collection and transformation to report generation and visualization. The Analyst prioritizes data quality and accessibility to help stakeholders make confident, data-driven decisions, leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modelling to drive business insights.
Experience in data reporting and visualization in mining/heavy industry
Main Accountabilities
Data Management and Analysis:
Gather and pre-process data from various industrial and enterprise sources. Develop data models, integrations, and data transformations to satisfy solution requirements.
Ensure data integrity by cleaning and validating data to maintain accuracy, completeness, and uniformity of the data visualization and reporting being developed.
Analyze data to identify opportunities for process optimization, energy and raw material efficiency improvements, cost reduction, or cost optimization.
Perform statistical analyses on to extract meaningful information, test solution hypotheses, and to validate results based on the project or use-case.
Ongoing data monitoring and adjustments to maintain the accuracy of the visualizations, reports, and dashboards.
Data Visualization:
Design and create data visualizations that effectively communicate insights and trends using tools like Power BI, SAC Analytics, SAP Business Objects, or similar platforms.
Apply best practices in data visualization to ensure clarity, accuracy, and user engagement.
Transform raw data into meaningful visual formats that help stakeholders understand complex information quickly and clearly
Master the technical aspects of visualization tools to bring ideas to life with aesthetic appeal.
BI Development:
Integrate data from various sources to develop comprehensive BI solutions.
Develop and maintain BI solutions that support business decision-making processes.
Introduce, design, develop, and sustain solutions leveraging the latest Data Analytics, Reporting, Visualization, and AI technologies to create and bring business value across the business chain.
Work with stakeholders to understand their BI needs and develop appropriate solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and domain experts, to drive data driven improvements through Analytics and AI solutions.
Reporting:
Generate reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Optimize queries and data models to improve report performance.
Ensure continual data in accuracy in all reports, establishing processes to verify data integrity.
Schedule and automate recurring reports to reduce manual effort.
Work closely with business functions, stakeholders, and functional teams to provide consultation on data analytics and AI use cases, identify potential value, formulate models, and conceptualize them. Communicate findings and insights clearly to stakeholders to inform business strategies.
Machine Learning and Innovation:
Collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to build and train machine learning models to solve specific problems and optimize models for performance and accuracy, including, but not limited to anomaly detection algorithms or predictive models.
Bring innovative ideas to apply image, video, and audio analytics or methodologies to reduce manual efforts.
Dashboards:
Design and create interactive and user-friendly dashboards that simplify complex datasets into intuitive visual summaries using approved tools.
Use industry best practices to create compelling visual narratives of KPI's, metrics, storytelling, trend analysis, and monitoring.
Work with front-end and back-end teams to integrate models making data easily accessible to stakeholders.
Ensure continual data in accuracy in all dashboards, establishing processes to verify data integrity.
