The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute and self-motivated Business Development Manager to join a high-performing regional team in Scotland.
You will take ownership of developing new business within the independent foodservice and hospitality sector -- identifying opportunities, winning new accounts, and nurturing long-term partnerships that add value for both the customer and the business.
This role is ideal for a driven individual who thrives on autonomy, takes pride in delivering results, and enjoys working within a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, prospect, and convert new independent business opportunities across the foodservice and hospitality market.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with independent cafes, pubs, restaurants, and catering operators.
Develop and deliver tailored menu, pricing, and supply solutions that enhance customer profitability and efficiency.
Manage a structured sales pipeline, ensuring consistent progress against agreed revenue and margin targets.
Lead the onboarding of new customers, ensuring smooth setup and an exceptional early experience.
Monitor market activity, competitor performance, and emerging trends to identify growth opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure customers receive best-in-class service and product support.
Skills & Experience
Proven track record in field-based sales, ideally within foodservice, catering, or hospitality supply.
Demonstrable success in winning and developing new business within a competitive market.
Strong commercial and analytical acumen with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Resilient, self-motivated, and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
A genuine interest in food and hospitality -- product or menu knowledge is an advantage, though full training will be provided.
