Main purpose of the role:
To fully support the EMEA Broker Compensation Accounting Manager in all aspects of Broker Compensation Accounting within the EMEA operations, ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the ongoing development of the Compensation Accounting team while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and control.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure the integrity of compensation-related P&L and Balance Sheet across EMEA operations through timely monthly postings, analytical reviews, and reconciliations.
Work closely with the Senior Broker Compensation Accountant and other stakeholders to ensure timely closure of all Broker Compensation Accounting matters.
Calculate and post monthly revenue-related bonus accruals, ensuring alignment with forecasted desk payouts.
Assist in the preparation of management information, including desk and broker performance reports and payout trend analyses.
Calculate and process actual bonus payments, comparing to accruals and investigating variances to improve future accuracy.
Identify and implement process improvements in Broker Compensation Accounting through enhanced documentation, automation, and technology (including AI).
Manage, control, and report on compensation-related FX exposure.
Provide commentary on monthly and quarterly P&L movements for global financial analytics.
Collaborate with US and Asia counterparts to ensure consistency and best practice sharing.
Support external and internal audits by preparing files and responding to queries promptly.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive broker information.
Support the Compensation Accounting Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
Skills / experience required:
Part-qualified or working towards ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience) -- ideally within the UK financial services sector.
Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
Prior experience in Compensation and Payroll Accounting advantageous.
Understanding of Equity Compensation desirable.
Knowledge of legal entity vs. management information (MI) reporting requirements.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to build effective relationships across teams.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive, responsible approach.
Supervisory experience beneficial.
System knowledge:
Advanced MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sumifs, charts).
Experience with Oracle General Ledger and Essbase preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
