Our multi category auction house, Stanley Gibbons Baldwin's (SGB), bears these names to honour both Stanley Gibbons' history as 'the home of stamp collecting' and Baldwin's expertise in coins, medals and militaria alongside exciting new verticals such as trading card games.

We intend to shape the future of collecting as it changes from an analogue hobby to utilising all the modern tools available today to truly enhance the collecting experience. Across the group we want to be able to service collectors' needs throughout their collecting journey, starting from the moment when they get inspired to collect, all the way to selling their collection. We're here to disrupt a 100+ year old industry and improve the way collectors discover, buy and sell, enjoy them and more!

Who you might be:

We are looking for engineers with at least three years commercial experience in software development. The successful candidate will be joining a close, friendly and welcoming team. You will have the opportunity to be involved in technical processes and decisions that shape the digital products at this company. You will find that the more experienced members of the team are always keen to help and guide.

We are a small but dynamic development outfit, and we own a large and diverse estate of systems. These are built on the latest technologies, and we need software engineers who are flexible and adaptable. Successful applicants will be capable of taking on front-end, back-end and integration work as required, and will be happy to be involved in both brown and green field projects. The job will at times encompass elements of data modelling, infrastructure, DevOps, testing and analysis. As noted above, our development focus right now is on back end and interfacing work and we will favour candidates who demonstrate ability with databases and data transformation.

We need a person who:

* Can learn rapidly, and is comfortable navigating through a new and unfamiliar codebase

* Quickly acquires competence with new technologies and tools

* Has strong communication skills

* Is flexible and collaborative

* Can work with Product and Development colleagues to refine, analyse and define complex and/or ambiguous requirements

* Has an eye for detail and passion for delivering quality user experiences

* Is capable of developing large, complex features unaided

* Produces effective, efficient and maintainable code at pace

* Has a good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines

Systems, Technologies and Methodologies

The ideal candidate will have solid commercial experience of working with most or all of the following:

* TypeScript

* Postgres

* AWS serverless architectures

* NestJS

* NextJS

* React

* Python

* Object-oriented programming, data structures, and design patterns

* Both relational and NoSQL databases

The salary for this role is PS45-PS65k depending upon experience
