At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least four-five days per week.

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work to support clinical data management and development of complex electro-mechanical medical device systems within the Interventional Cardiology Coronary Therapies team. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC's mission.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Review, annotate, and prepare medical images to support machine learning & classical algorithm development.
Maintain the storage and organization of medical images, annotations, and associated information.
Develops and supports validation of tools for analyzing data sets and processing medical images through commercial & exploratory algorithms.
Write and run unit tests
Support code refactoring and testing code written by others
Collaborate closely with data scientists, cloud data engineers, algorithm engineers, clinical engineers, software engineers and systems engineers locally and globally
In all actions, lead with integrity and demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Must graduate between December 2026 - Spring 2027
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate level degree majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th - August 7th OR May 26th - August 14th
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove or Arbor Lakes Minnesota Boston Scientific Corporate location
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams
Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions
Previous internship or co-op experience
Desire to work in a medical device company where real products get manufactured
Experience with AWS and cloud technologies
Experience with machine learning development frameworks
Working knowledge of image processing
Manipulating tabular metadata using SQL and Python's Pandas library
