Job Specifications

We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Invoice Specialist to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy in freight billing, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain efficient processes. Candidate MUST have previous transportation experience.

This is a hybrid position (3 days in office), located in Oakville
$25/hr
11 week contract to start, potential to extend

Responsibilities:

Review and validate freight invoices for accuracy, ensuring all required information is included.
Match invoices to shipment records to confirm billable events and verify charges against contractual agreements.
Assign appropriate GL codes to invoices based on the company’s Chart of Accounts.
Process invoices accurately and on time using designated freight payment systems.
Respond promptly to carrier inquiries and resolve billing issues within one business day.
Prepare and reconcile monthly carrier accruals and ensure timely resolution of aged items.
Review month-end robotics program outputs for accuracy and report discrepancies.
Collaborate with internal transportation teams to address invoice or rate concerns.
Support additional tasks and ad hoc requests as needed.

Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle complex billing processes.
Knowledge of freight invoicing and contractual terms is a plus.
Experience with GL coding and reconciliation.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
