Position: BSA with Securities & Payments
Location: Toronto - Hybrid
Job Description:
Partner with business users, product owners, and engineering teams to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for securities and payment processing systems.
Define end-to-end business workflows for base banking functions, account setup, deposits, fund transfers, payment initiation, reconciliation, and exception handling.
Work closely with operations, compliance, and treasury teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements across payment channels (SWIFT, ACH, Fedwire, RTP).
Support enhancements to core banking and settlement platforms, ensuring data accuracy, integration integrity, and straight-through processing (STP).
Develop and maintain BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process maps, and interface specifications for cross-functional teams.
Coordinate UAT and production validation, ensuring all functional and data requirements are met and documented sign-offs are achieved.
Collaborate with upstream/downstream system teams (e.g., General Ledger, Custody, Trade Finance, Risk, and Data Warehouse) for seamless data flow and reporting.
Analyze securities trade flows (equities, fixed income, mutual funds) and align with payment settlement cycles (DVP, non-DVP).
Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities, contributing to the bank's modernization and digital transformation roadmap.
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Functional Consultant within Banking, Payments, or Securities domains.
Strong understanding of base banking products - deposits, payments, reconciliations, and clearing/settlement operations.
Working knowledge of SWIFT message formats (MT/MX), ISO 20022, Fedwire, ACH, RTP, SEPA, and payment orchestration frameworks.
Experience with Securities operations including trade lifecycle, settlement, and corporate actions.
Hands-on experience with requirement documentation, data mapping, and SQL-based data validation.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology, JIRA/Confluence, and collaboration with global teams.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
