Job Specifications

LeverageTek is actively seeking Business Analyst for a 12 month term with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

Hybrid – Ottawa or Montreal HQ 2-3 days/week.

Security Requirement

Must hold for a Government of Enhanced Reliability Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

Engage with stakeholders to understand and document business needs.
Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit requirements.
Analyze and define functional and non-functional requirements.

Business Process Modeling

Map current and future state business processes.
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement or optimization.

Solution Design & Documentation

Translate business requirements into user stories or functional specifications, and solution designs.
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure feasibility and alignment.
Document workflows, data flows, and system interactions.

Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
Facilitate cross-departmental communication and alignment.
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clarity of requirements.

Testing & Validation

Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Validate that solutions meet business needs and technical requirements.
Assist in troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Contribute to high-level data modeling and source system analysis.
Support reporting enhancements and data governance initiatives.

Vendor Coordination

Collaborate with external vendors during system or solution implementation.
Ensure deliverables meet business and technical specifications.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure solutions comply with organizational policies and standards.
Contribute to solution governance, prioritization, and strategic alignment.

Key Qualifications

Business Analysis Experience in Financial Services or Investment Management

Proven ability to analyze financial systems, reporting, and transaction management.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills to bridge business and technical teams.

Documentation & Requirements Development

Demonstrated ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process flows, user stories, technical specifications, training materials and standard operating procedures.

Other Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Knowledge of Power BI and data visualization tools.
Familiarity with solution governance and portfolio management.

Assets

Knowledge of eFront or similar financial platforms.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce CRMs.
Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or similar platform for data integration platforms.
Experience in data governance and transformational data delivery.
Understanding of configuration vs. customization in enterprise platforms.
Exposure to strategic planning and roadmap development.
