Job Specifications
JSG is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer for a contract-to-hire hybrid role in Woodland Hills, CA. This position will begin as a W2 employee of JSG supporting our client.
This role is SQL-heavy (90%) with additional BI development (Power BI, Tableau) and Python (10%) for automation. The engineer will build governed data models, semantic layers, and BI assets across Snowflake, SQL Server (SSMS), and Oracle, applying modern software engineering practices--version control, CI/CD, testing, and documentation--to ensure trust and automation in the BI ecosystem.
The Data Analytics Engineer will design, build, and scale the analytics layer that empowers leaders across Marketing, Finance, Operations, Revenue Management, and Reservations to make data-driven decisions with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize SQL across Snowflake, Oracle, and SQL Server (90%).
Build and maintain data models, marts, and semantic layers for analytics.
Design and deliver dashboards/BI solutions in Power BI and Tableau.
Apply best practices in data modeling (star, snowflake, medallion/lakehouse).
Use Python (10%) for automation and data workflows.
Ensure data quality, governance, and reliability across BI assets.
Partner with Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Revenue teams to translate business needs into technical BI solutions.
Qualifications
3-6 years in BI/Data Analytics Engineering.
Expert SQL skills across Snowflake, Oracle, and SQL Server.
Strong experience with Power BI (preferred) and Tableau.
Familiarity with semantic layers, KPI frameworks, and governance.
Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and testing frameworks.
Python for automation and lightweight transformations.
Domain experience in finance, or consumer industries.
Salary: $33 - $35 per hour
