Seeking a Director's Assistant (Work Experience) for Independent Film Production Company

Start date: January 2026

Duration: 8 weeks

Hours: Flexible - 1 call per week (remote), plus tasks to complete in your own time, working to your availability. MUST BE LONDON-BASED.

About the role:

Breaking Jar Ltd is an independent production company helping people achieve real-life change through fictional stories. We produce original films and media, as well as providing training and resources for aspiring filmmakers, building a community around meaningful stories changing lives.

You will be working directly with the Founder, Hunter Boydell, on projects and tasks related to Directing, as we seek to create wider exposure, entry-level access, and more worthwhile opportunities in UK film.

What you’ll be doing:

Research and analysis of data gathered within Breaking Jar and the wider industry
Identifying potential areas for growth to better serve our UK filmmaking community
Location research & scouting for London shoots on upcoming production Wolves

You will need to have your own computer, smartphone, and internet access. Remote role, but must be based in London, with the potential for some in-person activity i.e. location scouting.

This is an unpaid internship, akin to a volunteer role or work experience placement.
