DV Cleared Programme Director for a Major National Technology Transformation
Location: London (primarily on-site)
Rate: Competitive Market Rate
Contract: 12 months initially, extendable
A government organisation is undertaking a major national technology transformation and is seeking an experienced Programme Director to lead a complex, multi-year programme delivering a new mission-critical digital capability.
The programme is transitioning from early discovery phases into full build and implementation. You will work alongside an established senior leadership team and oversee a large, multidisciplinary group covering technology, data, product, commercial and organisational change.
This role requires someone who can provide strong strategic leadership, establish clear direction, navigate high-complexity environments, and maintain delivery momentum across multiple stakeholders and delivery partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and vision for a large-scale technology-enabled transformation.
Oversee governance, risk, assurance and performance for a high-profile national programme.
Lead senior stakeholder engagement across a federated or multi-agency environment.
Ensure delivery of programme outcomes, benefits and a coherent technical solution.
Manage complex supplier ecosystems and major commercial decisions.
Support and direct multidisciplinary teams operating in sensitive and fast-paced environments.
Experience Required
Proven leadership of major complex digital or software delivery programmes.
Strong track record operating at executive level in high-stakes or sensitive environments.
Experience directing multidisciplinary teams and managing large supplier partnerships.
Ability to navigate complex organisational landscapes and manage competing priorities.
Comfortable leading within ambiguity and setting strategic direction for large programmes.

Desirable:
Experience with Agile or product-led delivery approaches (eg, Scrum, SAFe, GDS lifecycle).
Programme management qualifications (eg, MSP).
