Job Specifications

We’re looking for an experienced Power BI Functional Data Analyst / Developer to help modernize a central data platform as part of a large-scale cloud migration to Microsoft Azure. You’ll play a key role in transforming business needs into reliable, high-performance datasets and dashboards — supporting the organization’s ambition to become fully data-driven.

This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure DevOps, and to shape the data foundation for the coming years.

Your Responsibilities

Analyze and understand business processes and their data dependencies.
Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.
Design, optimize, and document datasets and data models from the data warehouse.
Collaborate with Data Engineers to align Power BI models with star/snowflake schemas in the warehouse, driven by Microsoft Fabric ETL processes.
Ensure governance, security, publication, monitoring, and performance of datasets.
Take an active role in testing and validating developed datasets.
Apply internal standards and governance practices throughout your work.
Maintain clear documentation of developed solutions.

What are we looking for?

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experience:
At least 3 years working with Power BI (dataset design, implementation, and modeling).
At least 5 years in functional analysis and data analysis roles.

Strong understanding of data modeling methodologies (Kimball/Inmon, star schema, snowflake).
Advanced knowledge of SQL, DAX, and Power Query.
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI integration on Azure.
Experience with Row-Level Security and dataset governance.
Experience using Azure DevOps or GitHub for CI/CD in Power BI projects.
Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts.
Languages: Fluent in Dutch or French, with a good command of English.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Knowledge of Sparx Enterprise Architect for documentation.
Experience with SAP BI Universes.
Familiarity with tabular modeling and dataset optimization in the cloud.
Experience implementing Power BI governance and performance monitoring on Azure.
