Job Specifications

Carbon3AI is building the next generation of AI infrastructure with clean, sustainable, high-density data centres. We’re rolling out a network of energy-efficient, high-performance sites across the UK to meet growing demand for sovereign, low-impact compute.

Our portfolio includes modular builds, purpose-built facilities, and high-density deployments — all designed for speed to market, operational excellence, and environmental performance. We’re focused on developing pragmatic, high-quality, next-generation data centres that redefine how high-density compute is delivered to market.

We’re now seeking a Head of Data Centre Delivery to lead the end-to-end readiness and build delivery of our UK data centre portfolio — from site preparation and procurement alignment through to commissioning and client handover.

You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of multiple modular and fixed-build data centres across the UK, ensuring each site is ready for construction, technically aligned, and delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.

This is a senior, highly visible role requiring strong technical understanding, leadership across multi-vendor environments, and the ability to bridge between pre-construction planning and in-field delivery. You’ll work closely with internal engineering, design, and procurement teams — as well as contractors, utilities providers, and specialist vendors — to maintain pace, performance, and quality across every phase.

Key Responsibilities

Site Readiness & Pre-Construction

Lead the readiness phase for each site, including feasibility studies, surveys, and mobilisation planning
Coordinate with design and engineering partners to ensure specifications and sequencing are fully aligned
Support procurement in vendor selection and product validation to ensure equipment and systems are fit for purpose
Identify and mitigate early-stage risks related to grid access, civils, and logistics

Project Delivery & Construction Oversight

Oversee end-to-end build delivery across multiple UK sites, managing groundworks, civil works, modular installation, and internal fit-out
Coordinate planning and sequencing with project partners to ensure efficient execution
Monitor on-site progress, address blockers quickly, and maintain full visibility on cost, risk, and schedule

Procurement & Vendor Management

Manage multiple external contractors and specialist suppliers across MEP, construction, cabling, and commissioning
Work closely with procurement to align delivery scopes, SLAs, and product readiness
Drive accountability, quality control, and health & safety compliance (CDM) across all vendors
Maintain clear communication and collaboration across the supply chain

Technical Integration & Handover

Oversee installation of racks, cooling systems, power distribution, fire suppression, and security infrastructure
Coordinate with IT and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and readiness for go-live
Ensure each site meets quality, performance, and sustainability targets before operational handover

Programme & Budget Ownership

Own project schedules, budgets, and reporting across all active builds
Track progress against the critical path and proactively manage delivery risks
Report to senior leadership on programme status, commercial exposure, and delivery performance

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience delivering mission-critical infrastructure or data centre projects
Strong background in construction project management, M&E, or infrastructure delivery
Experience managing pre-construction and procurement alignment activities
Deep understanding of UK utility and power systems, including DNO and ICP coordination
Demonstrated success managing multiple contractors and vendors across complex build environments
Excellent stakeholder management skills — confident operating across technical and executive levels
Knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety compliance
Results-driven, pragmatic, and comfortable in fast-moving, multi-site environments

Background: Education in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar (degree or equivalent experience)

Location: This role requires frequent travel to sites within United Kingdom and must be completed from within the United Kingdom.
