We are hiring a Systems Engineer to join our Direct Access Ground Systems team, part of the Direct Access Program in Westminster, CO.
Direct Access provides customers with the capability to task the Vantor satellites directly, and receive, process, host, and disseminate their own image data through Vantor-delivered ground systems. The DAGS team's goal is to ensure that Vantor initiatives are met for the Corporate, and International Defense & Intelligence Direct Access program. The contribution to this goal is to design, develop, implement and maintain the ground system software on the Headquarters side of the program, ensuring zero-downtime, 24/7 operational success for our DAF customers and internal operational end users.
Responsibilities:
Design and sustainment of the operational Direct Access ground system across our customer base .
Full Systems Engineering lifecycle for the Direct Access Headquarters system.Decompose high-level business requirements into detailed technical software solutions that fit into the larger microservice architecture of the ground system.
Work with external teams to design, develop and implement new capabilities that support the Direct Access Program and its customers around the world.
S erve in a technical role leading the operational sustainment of assigned subsystems across the Direct Access ground systems.
Act as subject matter expert for the Direct Access Ground System domain.
Lead internal software development teams in prioritizing and building cutting edge technical solutions to complex software problems
Daily engagement with internal development engineers, system engineers and stakeholders to drive new ground system software solutions on-time and on-budget
Resolve system issues that impact day-to-day operations.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with 2 to 5 years' experience in satellite ground systems engineering or strong experience in broader systems engineering functions.
Bachelor degree in systems engineering or other engineering/computer science related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
Foundational understanding of satellite ground system components and operational concepts.
Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills, which include customer communication and technical writing.
Ability to troubleshoot and identify root cause of operational issues and drive to resolution with internal stakeholders and system developers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting operational satellite ground systems.
Ability to work methodically to identify issues and develop solutions.
Experience testing complex satellite ground systems.
Ability to understand, follow, and execute rigorous integration and test requirements, cases, and plans.
Ability to document detailed training materials.
Ability to grasp and contribute to system solutions that will meet the needs of customers.
Understand computer systems and architectures including Windows, Linux, Docker, and scripting.
Pay Transparency:In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.? The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $102,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
