Key Responsibilities Purpose of the role
In autoimmune disease biology, we are further adapting our ImmTAAI platform to respond to unmet healthcare challenges in the field. This includes ongoing efforts to further develop and enhance the ImmTAAI platform's capabilities and applications. The goal is to ultimately expand Immunocore’s therapeutic pipeline.
The placement student will contribute by functionally characterising ImmTAAI molecules in the capacity to module immune responses. The 12-month project will be structured around milestones and will include training in cell biology by culturing cell lines and primary T cells and characterising cells by flow cytometry, performing functional assays by measuring cytokine release by various methods.
By the end of placement, you will have been trained in cutting-edge technologies, within a multidisciplinary, cross functional team. You will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of research, experimental rigour and scientific integrity. You will participate in weekly meetings, with the opportunity to present your own work in an informal scientific setting. You will receive close supervision and mentoring working with senior members of the group.
Education & Qualifications
Currently studying towards a Biological Sciences, Biomedicine, Immunology, Biotechnology or (Bio)Chemistry or other related degree.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre on 23rd, 24th, 25th, or 26th February 2026, providing an opportunity to meet current placement students, learn about the role, and socialize with employees.
Placements are expected to begin on 7th September 2026.
