Intern, Logistic & Customs Compliance
This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.
Job Summary
The Intern, Logistic and Customs Compliance is responsible for working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop business opportunities and risk mitigation strategies. The role supports the Procurement Center of Excellence (COE) team in their day-to-day activities. The detail-oriented and proactive intern to support the long-term sustainability of our tariff tracking operations. The intern will play a key role in cleaning and maintaining CN’s procurement materials master data to ensure accuracy of customs declaration and in minimizing tariff impact to CN. This includes updating system records, collaborating with category managers and vendors to gather accurate and up-to-date information, and documenting processes to ensure consistency and traceability.
Major Responsibilities
Support tariff tracking and reporting processes
Perform daily analysis of customs reports to identify noncompliant transactions
Collaborate with vendors and CN customs brokerage teams to address noncompliant transactions
Clean and update master data related to tariffs
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to collect and validate missing or outdated information.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency to support tariff tracking and reporting processes.
Document procedures, workflows, and data standards to support long-term process sustainability.
Requirements
Knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of data management and governance
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)
Apply analytical thinking and solve problems
Time management
Communicate with impact both orally and written
Strong ability to collaborate and share timely information with and across functions to get things done effectively
Education
Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent*
Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
