This is W2 position.

Position: IT Software Engineer 4 (Senior SDET)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Duration: 12 Months+

Experience Required: 8–10 years

Start: ASAP

Role Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SDET who can design and extend automation frameworks, develop automated test suites, and provide technical leadership across multiple applications. The ideal candidate will be strong in Java-based automation, API testing, performance testing, and CI/CD integration, with the ability to mentor test engineers and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, extend, and maintain automation frameworks using Java/JavaScript.
Develop automation scripts for CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous testing and integration.
Build and maintain API automation frameworks for RESTful services.
Create automated functional test scripts using tools such as Java, Karate, JMeter.
Perform manual and exploratory testing as needed.
Mentor and train test engineers (onshore/offshore) in automation best practices.
Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business teams to resolve issues and align on requirements.
Provide expertise in testing methodologies, standards, and quality assurance processes.
Support full-stack and third-party integration testing.

Required Skills & Experience:

8–10 years of experience in automation and software testing.
Strong hands-on coding skills in Java (3–5+ years) and BDD frameworks (Cucumber, JBehave).
8+ years of automation framework design experience.
3–5 years testing REST APIs and building API automation frameworks.
Strong SQL skills and ability to create/manage test data.
3+ years performance testing with JMeter.
Hands-on experience in AWS cloud environments.
Experience in DevOps tools and practices: Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines, TDD.
Experience with microservices architecture, load testing, and system integration testing.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Must have worked in Agile teams (2+ years).

Nice to Have:

Apigee or other API gateway experience
Python scripting
End-to-end platform integration testing
