Job Overview

The retirement of the current CNIO has presented an opportunity to a registrant to lead on the digital clinical agenda in the health board in partnership with the Chief Clinical Information Officer.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The CxIO is the translator and main point of contact for nursing, other healthcare professionals, management and Health digital professionals. The post holder will lead on clinical digital work on the selection, development and deployment of digital solutions to ensure the effective and safe integration of technology into clinical practice.

The CxIO will represent the Health Board at national level and will advise on national policies and strategies ensuring that the professional nursing / Allied Health Professional / Healthcare Scientist / strategies and Digital Strategy converge to form a coherent whole.

The CxIO will be recognised as a national expert, leading future Health digital development and presenting at national and international level.

The post holder will provide visible clinical leadership to all healthcare professionals at all levels of the organisation that are responsible for the implementation of digital solutions. They will champion and promote innovation and stimulate a positive culture in the development of clinical digital roles across the Health Board and at a national level.

The post holder will line manage the clinical digital nursing and AHP workforce as appointed.
