Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1 to join their team. This is an entry-level Data Center Technician role focused on hands-on data center operations and decommissioning work. The role supports day-to-day data center activities such as removing and labeling network and power cables, staging hardware, assisting with installs/decommissions, and performing physical audits.

Location: Boydton, VA
Pay Range: $22/hr - $25/hr
What's the Job?
Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission process
Run, label, and stage power and networking cables for equipment removal
Follow procedures for preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning hardware with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads
Prepare, stage, set up, and perform basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions and standard procedures
Conduct physical audits of datacenter assets to ensure accuracy and compliance
What's Needed?
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays
Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training preferred
