Senior ServiceNow Engineer

Start - ASAP

Duration - 3 months to start

Purpose: To lead and advance the clients capabilities, providing best practices and hands-on expertise. The organization is "pretty early in their ServiceNow journey" and needs significant progress.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and mentor a junior ServiceNow person, who is currently at an admin level.
Provide best practices for Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
Oversee discovery processes within ServiceNow
Manage asset management (including Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) which they have licensed
Handle basic API integration
Contribute to and implement the ServiceNow roadmap, including work on configuration management and service catalog
Address "very basic ServiceNow needs" and drive significant improvement

Required Skills & Experience:

Must be a senior-level ServiceNow engineer
Possess strong knowledge of CMDB, discovery, asset management, and basic API integration
Capable of acting as the primary Senior expert within the organization, as there is "no senior person here for them to rely on"
Prior experience in healthcare IT is beneficial

Location Preference:

Ideally on-site in Buffalo, NY
Remote work is considered, but if converting to a full-time employee (FTE), the candidate must reside in one of the states listed above due to Roswell Park's labor and insurance rules as a New York State public benefit corporation
For contractors, location doesn't matter initially, but long-term conversion is desired
All remote hires are now required to physically come onsite the first week for onboarding
The client will cover travel expenses for all onsite visits (airfare, lodging, meal per diems, and rental car if applicable)
