Role Purpose

The Associate Sales Representative supports VSF’s sales function by focusing on outbound lead generation, relationship building, and meeting booking, feeding qualified opportunities directly to the Sales Manager and senior closers.

This is a phone-heavy, outbound role designed for coachable, disciplined individuals who want to build professional sales experience in financial services.

Reporting Structure

• Reports directly to Sales Manager

• Works collaboratively with other Associates and senior sales leadership

• All meetings booked flow into the Sales Manager’s calendar unless otherwise assigned

Core Responsibilities

• Outbound lead generation via cold calling, email, and LinkedIn

• Phone-heavy outreach to small and mid-sized business owners

• Qualifying prospects based on VSF’s service fit

• Booking discovery meetings for the Sales Manager

• Maintaining accurate CRM records (Microsoft Dynamics 365)

• Participating in collaborative outreach efforts and team campaigns

• Attending regular coaching and performance check-ins

Activity Expectations

• Consistent daily outbound activity (calls, emails, LinkedIn)

• Structured follow-up with all warm leads

• Clear CRM notes and pipeline hygiene

• Minimum 2 meetings per week with Sales Manager for coaching and review

Compensation Structure

• Commission-only to start

• 15% commission on first-year revenue for deals sourced and booked by the Associate

• Sales Manager override: 5% on Associate-generated revenue

• Clear path to increased responsibility, higher commission, or promotion based on performance

This structure:

• Incentivizes Associates to generate real opportunities

• Compensates management for coaching and oversight

• Scales cleanly as you add more reps

Employment Type

• Full-time (flexible hours)

• Remote, with preference for Calgary-based candidates

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Post-secondary education preferred, not required

• Experience in B2B and/or B2C sales

• Comfortable with cold calling and rejection

• Coachable and open to feedback

• Strong relationship-building instincts

• Organized, reliable, and professional

• Interested in long-term growth within VSF

Tools & Systems

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM)

• Phone-based outbound workflows (Apollo AI)

• Collaborative sales playbooks and scripts
