T2D Network Coordinator
The Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) Network, an initiative of the non-government organization Institute for Health System Transformation and Sustainability (IHSTS), supports community service based care innovation for people with T2D in British Columbia. Approximately 1.5 million BC residents have diabetes or prediabetes, with 80% of care being provided in community. The T2D Network brings those with lived experience, family, caregivers, healthcare providers, and organizations together to develop and coordinate activities focused on T2D prevention, self-management, and remission.
The T2D Network is looking for an organized and accountable individual to coordinate activities for the T2D Network. The Coordinator role reports to the Director of the T2D Network and supports the work of the T2D Network team. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating: project planning and support, communication, marketing, event planning, knowledge sharing activities and partner engagement.
Responsibilities
· Plan, execute, and monitor a portfolio of projects collaboratively with the T2D Network Director and team.
· Use project management tools to track activities and deadlines to ensure that project milestones are met.
· Support the work of the Director and T2D Network team in engaging external partners and facilitating communication flow to advance project progress.
· Identify risks early and develop problem-solving solutions in a team environment to resolve issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
· Orchestrate effective and purposeful meetings and interactions with external and internal participants.
· Work with subject matter experts to explore marketing options and optimize traditional and non-traditional marketing methods to advance the T2D Networks mission – such as managing Pod/vodcast production, T2D Network social media accounts, etc.
· Facilitate partnership and collaboration with a variety of partners – such as patient representative groups, healthcare professionals, and government administrators.
· Participate in the planning and coordination of T2D Network events, either as a participant or facilitator – such as conferences, public information sessions, etc.
· Work within project-level budgets.
· Work to deadlines and offer mitigation strategies when a timeline is challenged.
· Prepare clear and accurate project reports for the T2D Network Director, and work collaboratively with the T2D Network team to prepare reports for the IHSTS CEO and IHSTS board.
· Write and support grant funding applications that complement the organizations goals and budgetary requirements with assistance from the T2D Network team.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement and efficiency of internal processes – such as creating and updating standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Management, Communications, Health Sciences, etc.).
· 3 years of progressive experience coordinating projects.
· Holds an understanding of project management principles.
· Proven ability to work in a team environment.
· Ability to take initiative, problem solve and engage in systems thinking.
· Excellent communication and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
· High level of integrity, discretion and reliability as a professional representative of the organization.
· Effectively manages confidential information.
· Experience working with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
· A master’s degree in a relevant field or project management certification (PMP, etc.).
· Work experience at a non-profit, healthcare, or government organization in British Columbia.
Other Information:
· Position Type: Full-time employee.
· Estimated work hours: Full-time (approximately 8 hours per day, 5 days per week), with the possibility of flexible hours.
· Work Environment: Remote position with occasional travel (estimated two weeks per year).
· Reporting Structure: Reports to the T2D Network Director.
· Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications.
· Pay Range: $45 to $55 per hour.
· Vacation: 20 days.
