Network Engineer
Tier4Group is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, high-availability network environments. This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on networking experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving infrastructure, and supporting mission-critical systems that truly matter.
What You’ll Do
Monitor network availability, performance, and reliability; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure maximum uptime.
Deploy, support, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Implement and support network security controls to protect systems and data from cyber threats.
Troubleshoot network outages and performance issues using best-practice methodologies to quickly assess, remediate, and stabilize environments.
Perform technical analysis during incidents, document root causes, and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with team members to develop, update, and enforce network standards, policies, and procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation in alignment with industry standards.
Provide technical support and guidance to end users and internal IT teams.
Communicate clearly with management, delivering regular updates, reports, and technical summaries.
Stay current with emerging networking technologies, tools, and industry trends.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs.
Hands-on experience with networking hardware from vendors such as SonicWall, Cambium, UniFi, Meraki, Fortinet, WatchGuard, or similar.
Solid understanding of network security best practices.
Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Auvik, Wireshark, SolarWinds, or equivalents.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in a network engineering, network support, or similar role.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
