We are currently looking for a Front End Developer to join our team.
We are currently looking for a Front-End Web Developer to join our Mississauga team! The Web Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining user-facing website components while ensuring compliance with PMRI’s standard operating procedures and security requirements. This role focuses primarily on WordPress-based websites and front-end technologies. The Web Developer position reports to Director, IT Development and/or designate.
Responsibilities
Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and page layouts
Build responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Collaborate with IT, Marketing, QA, and Business teams to gather and implement requirements
Customize and manage WordPress plugins while ensuring performance and security
Maintain and update website content, layouts, and styling in line with branding and compliance requirements
Optimize website performance, SEO basics, and cross-browser compatibility
Troubleshoot and resolve front-end, theme, and plugin-related issues
Apply website security best practices, including updates, access control, and vulnerability mitigation
Support website hosting environments, deployments, and backups in coordination with IT
Maintain documentation for website changes, configurations, and updates
Participate in testing and quality checks for website updates and new features
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Web Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Strong experience with WordPress development, including themes and plugins
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
Experience with common WordPress page builders
Basic understanding of PHP for WordPress customization
Familiarity with hosting environments, DNS, SSL, and deployment workflows
Knowledge of website security, performance optimization, and SEO fundamentals
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a regulated environment
Team-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
