About Zevero
Zevero is on a mission to transform how organisations manage sustainability by combining advanced software with expert guidance, enabling businesses to take decisive climate action. Our platform supports organisations globally to capture emissions data, meet regulatory requirements, and build credible decarbonisation strategies.
We're a fast-growing, globally distributed team with hubs in the UK, Japan and across APAC. How we operate internally matters as much as what we build externally
Why this role exists
Our founders and leadership are still too involved in day-to-day operations, and that's starting to limit how fast we can move. This hire exists to change that.
As Zevero continues to scale, we need someone to help make sure our UK operations run smoothly, efficiently and intelligently. This is a broad, high-impact role sitting at the heart of the business - working closely with UK leadership to manage day-to-day operations, drive process improvements, and ensure the company is set up to grow.
This is a role for someone who thrives on structure, takes genuine ownership, and knows how to get things done across a fast-moving organisation.
What you'll do
Take operational ownership from founders
Identify the recurring operational tasks currently sitting with founders and leadership, and own them end-to-end.
Become the first point of contact for operational questions that currently reach the founding team, resolving them without escalation wherever possible.
Build systems and documentation so that day-to-day operations run reliably without founder involvement.
Build internal systems and tooling
Audit and improve the tools and workflows the team relies on, from project management and internal communication to documentation and reporting.
Make deliberate, well-reasoned decisions about tooling that serve a distributed team rather than defaulting to what works for a single office.
Build and maintain internal documentation that keeps the business well-organised and accessible as we scale.
Make distributed collaboration actually work
Own the operational infrastructure that connects our UK, Japan and APAC teams: working rhythms, async communication norms, cross-team project management and handoffs.
Spot where coordination is breaking down across timezones and fix it structurally, not just case by case.
Serve as a connective layer across the business, ensuring decisions get made, projects progress and nothing falls through the cracks.
Support people operations
Own and continuously improve the onboarding experience for new employees, ensuring new joiners are set up for success from day one without requiring founder time.
Support wider people-related operational tasks as the team grows.
Compliance project management
Project manage compliance-related work streams — including regulatory, reporting or certification requirements — coordinating between internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Who you are
Experience & Skills
3–5 years' experience in an operations, business operations or chief of staff-type role, ideally within a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously without dropping the ball.
A track record of building internal systems and processes from a relatively early stage, not just inheriting and maintaining them.
Able to work with data and metrics to track operational performance and report to leadership.
Comfortable evaluating and implementing tooling — you have genuine opinions about what works for distributed teams and why.
Experience supporting or managing compliance, regulatory or project management work streams.
Exposure to HR processes or employee onboarding is a plus.
Personal Attributes
You take ownership seriously. If something is yours, it gets done.
You work well across cultures and timezones. You're thoughtful about how distributed teams communicate and you adapt accordingly.
Proactive and pragmatic: you spot problems before they become issues and find practical solutions.
You're a systems thinker who finds the structural fix, not just the quick one.
You're energised by working directly with senior leadership and can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Excited by the opportunity to help shape how a high-growth company runs.
A genuine interest in sustainability, climate action or purpose-driven technology is a strong advantage.
