Job Role: IT Recruitment Consultant needed (Agency) - Contract Or Permanent Desk

Location: our offices are Central Birmingham but WFH is accepted – accessible by Tram (Edgbaston Village stop) and only 5 minute walk from Five Ways Training

Experience needed:

Some sales experience. Flexible on where this comes from but something where you have to deal with a number of objections on a daily basis and ideally in a commercial/b2b sense. A lot of being a Recruitment Consultant can be learnt on the job so as along as you don’t mind being out your comfort zone and learning quick, this could be potentially role for you.

If you have got this far down in the advert you must have seen someone that has done well in recruitment and has all the riches that come with being successful at the job they do. The chances are, that they have come from nothing and have made something from the market they have got into and successfully ‘billed’ lots of monies and the trappings of all the commissions attached to this!!!

Recruitment is a simple game and at times can be mundane; those that are living the ‘high life’ per say have stuck to the basics, rinse/repeat with their sales activities on a daily basis but ultimately the glass is ‘always half full for them’. They change things up and realise that there will be more good days as opposed to the poor ones!

Recruitment is not a ‘get-rich quick scheme’ but will take time to develop your proposition in the technology market and this averages around 2 years to get yourselves up and running for a newbie to the recruitment space.

The recruitment market is in influx at present and in addition the cost of living crisis, its not quite like it used to be, which is not to say you can be a success (but some patience and some business intelligence awareness will be needed).

Not put off please keep reading….

The softer skills:

Adaptability. There are many ways to skin a cat and not one size fits all. We are looking for individuals that can analyse and show acumen to turn round situations.

Attitude is key. Not everyday is going to be the day that you want but its important that you back yourself and have the ‘thick skin’ required to keep going forward. It’s not about how hard you can get hit, but the ability to keep moving forward (you may know this from some famous boxing movie if you are old enough ).

Hunger to succeed. Played sport? Worked hard for something in your life? Achieved great things? Recruitment has all the serotine levels attached to it. You will have to build relationships with candidates and clients alike. When you place that candidate, get that interview booked or even get through to a manager you have tried x amount of times, you will have those and the sense of achievement you have felt before.

If you are determined individual and you can’t take no for an answer read about us below to see if we are your cup of tea and send in your CV with a covering letter to why we should be talking.
